Promoting environmental responsibility means investing in the present to shape the future.
For many years, Carvico has implemented innovative environmental policies guided by a circular economy approach. This corporate vision places respect for people at the heart of our development, driving our commitment to safeguarding the well-being of our employees, local communities, and the global ecosystem through concrete Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
Carvico continues its commitment to a more responsible future with the release of its second Sustainability Report - a document which highlights the progress achieved in environmental, social and economic sustainability. It reaffirms the company's dedication to creating a lasting value for people and the environment. Honesty, innovation and respect drive every choice we make along a journey of conscious and continuous growth. Find out more about our 2024 Sustainability Report.

Carvico's goal is to elevate the textile industry to fair and responsible standards, using the finest materials to protect both people and the planet.
Electricity
In production, we use energy exclusively from renewable sources. The replacement of all mercury vapor lighting with next-generation lamps, the introduction of inverters, LEDs, high-efficiency motors, and improvements to weaving plants have led to a further reduction in energy consumption.
In 2013, with the installation of a state-of-the-art co-generation plant, Carvico and Jersey Lomellina met the challenge of self-producing electricity, reducing energy resource consumption through the use of methane gas, currently the cleanest fossil fuel available.
The water entering Carvico, drawn from wells, is used for four production cycles and then collected in Carvico's internal homogenization plant. Only after an equalization treatment is it sent to the consortium purifier, where a physical-chemical-biological treatment purifies the water before it is returned to the river. The water taken from the river is returned clean, with zero pollutants.

Heat Recovery
The innovative system for recovering heat generated during the fabric processing phases allows for the recovery of thermal energy from production plants, which is then reused for heating certain company areas: office building, locker rooms, dyeing and weaving departments, color kitchen, and maintenance workshop.
Reduction of CO₂ emissions per kg of fabric produced compared to 2002
1.304.076 Sm³
Cubic meters of methane saved in 2021 thanks to the use of heat from industrial process emissions
1007 TOE/year
Tons of oil equivalent not used in one year - 55% reduction in thermal energy consumption per ton of finished product from 2002 to 2022
Air
Carvico implements a rigorous program to reduce pollutants in atmospheric emissions. Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art systems and technologies, we ensure emissions into the atmosphere with temperatures and pollutant levels well below the limits set by current regulations.
Pollutants not emitted into the atmosphere in 2021
10
Times lower than legal limits for atmospheric emissions
Waste
The use of recyclable raw materials, the reduction of packaging volumes, and the recovery of non-hazardous waste have allowed us to significantly reduce the amount of produced waste.
